Great question. A few important points on this topic
- In-app feedback and customer communication is the most customer friendly approach to communication. Consumers are busy and have dozens, if not hundreds of apps on their phones today. They won't take the time to exit the app and find you on Twitter, Facebook or in the app store unless they're feeling very strongly. You don't want to be ignoring the majority of your customer base.
- The feedback is much more constructive and helpful when someone using your app is able to give feedback while actually using the app. Being in context is very helpful for recall.
- Apptentive's analytics tools are geared to help publishers understand how their consumers are interacting with the communications capabilities. Because of this, the publisher can understand whether someone actually completes sending a piece of feedback, how far they've gotten in a survey and what the outcomes are for when you're engaging with them for ratings. This leads to dramatic improvements in results and deeper insight into your customer base.
